In contrast to the traditional local property implementation approach to PMS, the LOKI-PMS™ is a file and database server that are remotely located from the property. That means that LOKI-PMS™ hosts and maintains management and upkeep of the server and database as well as storing backups for 4 years of all databases. The property will access the software by using an Internet browser (preferably MS Internet Explorer 5.0+) to log onto the LOKI-PMS™ system. After obtaining authorization via a log-on name and password, the property has access to the functionality of the PMS. Reservations, check-ins, checkouts, cleaning lists, breakfast demand, financial reports, agency contracts and more are all processed through the web site.

The majority of the leading PMS vendors have an ASP model product in beta testing or under development. LOKI-PMS™ has however several ASP PMSs installed for a number of hotels. In these cases, LOKI-PMS™ is "renting" the software, providing upgrades and support at no extra cost to the client.

Vendors view the ASP model as the future of the PMS due to its many advantages. They expect it to revolutionize the way hotels and hotel companies view property management systems and LOKI-PMS™ is the the pioneer.
